Claire, 24, is currently working at The Australian ­ Australia's national newspaper - as a reporter and weekend Sydney bureau chief. She began working for The Australian in 1995 as a copygirl and cadet in the Canberra Press Gallery.

In 2000, she was assigned to cover the preparations and the aftermath of the Sydney Olympics. She went on to win the Olympic Writers and Photographers Association Patron's Award for Excellence for her coverage of the Olympics.

Claire hopes this fellowship will provide her with a journalism career that is diverse and exciting, and an opportunity to learn how her peers in the region work.

To date, Claire is the youngest Medialink fellowship recipient.
