In order to contribute to the strengthening
of Asia-Australia links and understanding, Medialink runs
a professional exchange program that offers fellowships for
Australian media personnel to work in an Asian news room and
Asian journalists to experience working in Australia for a
minimum three months.

Needham.
The Asian winners of the 2003-4 fellowships

Triana Budiarti Achdris from Indonesia, Tempo News Magazine
senior journalist Purwani
Diyah Prabandari from Indonesia China Central Television
producer Xu Yanqiu
from Beijing, and Hindustan Times Ltd. deputy editor Soumya
Bhattacharya from India.

are ABC-TV Four Corners producer Virginia
Moncrieff, Foreign Editor of The Canberra Times Hilton
Kolbe, Australian reporter Claire
Harvey, Executive Producer of Radio Australia news John
Westland.
The Asian winners of the 2002 fellowships
to Australia are three print reporters: Swapna
Majumdar of the Women’s Feature Service in India,
Chao Liang of The China Daily in Beijing, and
Uly Siregar of Femina magazine in Indonesia.
The winner of the 2002 AusAID sponsored
Medialink fellowship to Australia is Thuy Ha Nguyen of The Vietnam News.
