"Understanding Islam and Muslims"

Presented by the University of Melbourne's; 'Melbourne Institute of Asian Languages and Societies' & 'The Asialink Centre' as part of the University’s Summer Programs 2002 initiative.

A professional development program that:

  • explores Islam both as a religion and as a civilisation;
  • explores the current unity and diversity within Islam; and
  • draws on examples from the media to illustrate images of Muslims in Western societies.

Followed by an opportunity for discussion in small groups.
