INDIA: Inaugural Lowy Australia-India
Strategic Lecture
The Lowy Institute and the Australia-India
Council, with support from Asialink, present India in East
Asia with Professor Raja Mohan.
India's increasing outward orientation over
the last 10 to 15 years means greater engagement with East
Asia. Its membership of the East Asia Summit and the development
of its recent Look East policy display a new interest and
conversation with China, Korea and Japan.
Professor Mohan is Strategic Affairs Editor,
The Indian Express and author of The Shaping of India's
New Foreign Policy. His previous appointments include Diplomatic
Editor and Washington Correspondent of The Hindu; Professor
of South Asian Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University,
