The third annual Asialink arts forum was held on Saturday 16 June 2001 at the University of Melbourne, with sixty key people from arts and government discussing cultural exchange with China. The topic was introduced by Carrillo Gantner, followed by Dinah Dysart, Mabel Lee, David Ambrose and Paul Grabowsky.

Speakers were asked to provide three issues and five strategies of major importance when developing arts projects with China. Armed with these ideas, art form groups then met to discuss the points that had been raised and their bearing on particular industries such as literature, performing arts and visual arts. A plenary then brought forward summaries and following is an outline of the key outcomes.
